Birds are good house pets inspite of droppings

My uncle hesitated and then relented when he got reassured that a way was found to minimize the odor of bird droppings in their cages.
He was not against keeping birds in a large birdcage at the veranda. He loved birds too. It is just he was concerned that his daughter and me were asthmatic persons. That means we may have asthma attacks if feathers or odors from bird droppings were not properly addressed.
A friend of mine showed my uncle his system of addressing such issues. He brou
ght my uncle to his place and showed him his setup. The set-up consisted of a large sheet of metalsheet shaped according to the base shape of the birdcage. The height of the metallic basic was 3 inches and there were two sections. Each one was half-filled with water that had soap mixed and there were some wire screens covering so that birds wont drink from it.
We are so gracious and happy to be able to hear birds chirping on a daily basis and the birds' activity are fun to watch.
