But you can never regard their experiences as general information about these different breeds. Thus, you should go for the sites of breeders themselves. This way, you can be sure that the information here is all accurate and reliable.

Some of the lizards that have been caught in the wild indeed make fair pets. But this is not always the case. When they are shipped out to their new locations, there is that very strong tendency for overcrowding of the animals to occur. Overcrowding actually promotes easier transmission of diseases, so the longer these lizards are exposed to other pets, the higher the chances of them contracting diseases and infections. The good signs that you should look out for include the existence of just a small number of lizards in the terrarium. It would be better if there were only 1 species in that terrarium. Go for the active and alert lizards that have their eyes constantly open. The terrarium should have complete information as to the scientific names and the care sheets. The water dishes should be full and clean for each individual lizard, with the presence of heat pads and heat lamps in the terrarium.

There are also bad signs to look out for. If the seller says that caring for the lizard you’re interested in is just like caring for an iguana or a bearded dragon, chances are, he does not really know what he’s talking about. Proper care of different species of lizards come in different ways as well. Thus, steer clear from these sellers. Do not go for lizards in terrariums that are overcrowded, especially if there are dead lizards in the vicinity. If the terrariums are laden with urates and fecal matter, then avoid these as well.
