The size of your pet would be the deciding factor here. If your pet does not weigh more than 15 lbs, then you can get the small feeder. Small feeders are ideal for ferrets. If your pet exceeds 15 lbs but still weighs not more than 40 lbs, then you can choose to get the medium feeder. Cats of larger breeds can make use of the medium feeder. The large feeder would then be ideal for any pet that weighs more than 40 lbs. Larger dogs would then be the ideal representatives here.

The second thing to consider is the food that you should leave for your pet. This would actually depend on the diet that your pet is used to, as well as the number of days your pet would be left on its own. The small feeder can actually hold 5 lbs of food. The medium feeder holds 10 lbs, while the large one can hold 20 lbs.

So, how do auto pet feeders actually work? The feeder actually has a container for storage of the pellets that you would be leaving.
